Carl Frederick is a theoretical physicist (relativity & quantum measurement theory, and astrophysics), formerly at Cornell and NASA, and now 'Chief Scientist' of a small AI software house located in the college community of Ithaca, NY. Several years ago, he decided that he would like to write Science Fiction. Since then, he has built up a respectable corpus of short stories, published in Analog, Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine, ESLI, and Phobos. He has also published an interactive novel on his website.

Frederick is an epee fencer, a bagpiper, a nut on animals, and learns languages as a hobby.
